In a class of 90 students, numbers of boys are twice the number of gir...
Given:
- Total number of students = 90
- Number of boys = 2 * Number of girls
- Rani is 58th from the left end
- 20 boys are to the right of Rani

To find: Number of girls to the left of Rani

Approach:
1. Let's assume the number of girls in the class is 'x'. Then the number of boys in the class is '2x'.
2. Total number of students = Number of boys + Number of girls
90 = 2x + x
90 = 3x
x = 30
Therefore, the number of girls in the class is 30 and the number of boys is 60.
3. Rani is 58th from the left end. Hence, the number of students to the left of Rani = 58 - 1 = 57.
4. 20 boys are to the right of Rani. Hence, the number of boys to the left of Rani = 60 - 20 = 40.
5. Total number of students to the left of Rani = Number of girls to the left of Rani + Number of boys to the left of Rani
57 = Number of girls to the left of Rani + 40
Number of girls to the left of Rani = 57 - 40 = 17.

Therefore, the number of girls to the left of Rani is 17, and the correct answer is option C.
