This Mesosome is also helpful in replication of genophore... And if we talking about other options then... Periplasm is a space present between cell wall and cell membrane of prokaryotic cell which contains digestive enzymes. And this structure is similar to lysosomes of animal cell...
And gas vacuole helps in floatation...

Mesosome is produced by the infoldings of plasma membrane.These are needed for cellular respiration, which releases energy from the food and DNA replication, cell division, and extending the area of cell membrane. This is analogous to cristae in the mitochondrion in eukaryotic cells, which are finger-like projections and help eukaryotic cells undergo cellular respiration.That's why mesosome is known as mitochondria of prokaryotic cell.....
