An object 50cm tall is placed on the principal axis of a convex lens. ...
Given:
Height of object (h1) = 50 cm
Height of image (h2) = 20 cm
Distance of the screen (v) = 10 cm

To find:
Focal length (f) of the convex lens

Formula:
1/f = 1/v - 1/u

Where,
u = distance of object from the lens

Solution:

We know that,
h1/u = h2/v

Therefore,
u = h1 * v / h2
u = 50 * 10 / 20
u = 25 cm

Using the formula,
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
1/f = 1/10 - 1/25
1/f = 15/250
f = 16.67 cm

Therefore, the focal length of the convex lens is 16.67 cm.

Answer:
The focal length of the convex lens is 16.67 cm.
