Consider the following statements regarding features of the Consistent...
Features of the Consistent Assembly:
1. Fully Sovereign Body:
The Indian Independence Act of 1947 maintained that the Constituent Assembly was a fully sovereign body. This meant that it had the power to frame the Constitution of India and was not answerable to any external authority.
2. Representation of Princely States:
The Constituent Assembly composed representatives of Princely states which were nominated by the people of the princely states. This was done to ensure that the interests of the Princely States were represented in the Constitution-making process.
3. Allocation of Seats:
Seats allocated to each British province were divided among all communities, in proportion to their population. This was done to ensure that all communities had a fair representation in the Constituent Assembly and that no community was left out.
Conclusion:
Hence, the correct answer is option 'C', as all three statements are correct. The Constituent Assembly was a fully sovereign body that composed representatives of Princely states which were nominated by the people of the princely states. Seats allocated to each British province were divided among all communities, in proportion to their population.
Consider the following statements regarding features of the Consistent...
I am writing this answers as it is the only correct answer whether it is THE EXPLANATION or THE CORRECT OPTION.
CORRECT ANSWER IS ' 1 ONLY ' WHICH IS OPTION 3
REASONS:
STATEMENT 1 IS RIGHT.
The Indian Independence Act of 1947 MADE the ASSEMBLY a fully SOVEREIGN BODY .
SO the term maintained got me thinking. Then I looked at the sentence and I m like, Ok, it maintained that the Constituent Assembly was a fully Sovereign body ( from that particular moment ...nothing wrong with that)
LET'S LOOK AT STATEMENT 2 -
CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY DID compose of members of Princely states but they were not nominated by the people.
My Logic :
I m the KING, Why should I listen to my subjects regarding who to be the head of the delegation. This is blatant encroacbment on my authority. What if the people nominate someone who is quite capable and might replace the royal family , he might poison me or my heirs.Anyway, he already has the support of the people.
That's a crime as Serious as treason.So,
No! I won't allow people to interfere in the Sovereign sphere.Even if I am a benevolent despot, This is serious business. I Am ThE KING So, I will choose the people of the delegation.
Standard Explanation :
Representatives of Princely States were nominated by
HEADS OR RULERS OF PRINCELY STATES .
They did not join though ( INITIALLY)
It was only after the acceptance of the Mountabatten plan on JUNE 1947 when they realized that India is definitely going to be independent and their Power is in danger. Therefore ,they decided to join.
However,only 6 PRINCELY STATES JOINED
( BBk wines k Upar JP Reddy is coming)
Now dont ask BBk wines Google it , youtube pe search it
By the way ,
Bikaner, Baroda, Udaipur, Jaipur, Patiala, Rewa are those 6 princely states.
Later, most of them( Princely States) joined the C.A.
One thing to note in 1947 Act that
Muslim League left Indian Constituent Assembly and Created their own Constituent Assembly of Pakistan.
Anyway , Statement 2 is Yong.
LET'S LOOK AT STATEMNT 3
Seats allocated to each British province were allocated among 3 MAJOR COMMUNITIES -
MUSLIM, SIKH AND OTHERS ( REMEMBER NO HINDU),
in proportion to their population .
So, Statement 3 is also Yong.
