    Diameter of rotor (D) = 48 mm
    Speed of rotor (N) = 90,000 rpm
    Yarn production rate (V) = 140 m/min

    We know that the yarn production rate (V) is given by,
    V = πDN/60 × 1000 × Z
    where Z is the number of doublings of fibre layers in the rotor.

    ∴ Z = (V × 60 × 1000)/(πDN)

    Substituting the given values, we get
    Z = (140 × 60 × 1000)/(π × 48 × 90,000)
    Z = 96.95 (approx)

    Therefore, the number of doublings of fibre layers in the rotor is 97 (approx).
