Bana Bhatt
Bana Bhatt was a court poet and historian in Harsha's court. He wrote Harshacharita, which is a biography of Harsha. In this book, he described the society and economy under Harsha. According to Bana Bhatt, Harsha's reign was a period of prosperity and stability. He mentioned that people were happy and satisfied with their lives. The kingdom was well-administered, and the people were loyal to their king. Bana Bhatt also described the cultural and religious diversity of the kingdom.

Hiuen Tsang
Hiuen Tsang was a Chinese traveler who visited India during Harsha's reign. He wrote a book called Si-Yu-Ki, which is a record of his travels. In this book, he described the society and economy under Harsha. According to Hiuen Tsang, the kingdom was prosperous and well-governed.
