Ganesh cycles towards South-West a distance of 8m, then he moves towa...
Given information:
- Ganesh cycles towards South-West a distance of 8m
- He moves towards East a distance of 20m from there
- He moves towards North-East a distance of 8m
- Then he moves towards West a distance of 6m
- From there he moves towards North-East a distance of 2m
- Then he moves towards West a distance of 4 m
- He moves towards South-West 2m

To find:
- How far is he from the starting point?

Solution:
Let's assume Ganesh started at point O.

Step 1: Ganesh cycles towards South-West a distance of 8m
- He moves 8m towards the South-West direction from point O and reaches point A.

Step 2: He moves towards East a distance of 20m from point A
- He moves 20m towards the East direction from point A and reaches point B.

Step 3: He moves towards North-East a distance of 8m from point B
- He moves 8m towards the North-East direction from point B and reaches point C.

Step 4: Then he moves towards West a distance of 6m from point C
- He moves 6m towards the West direction from point C and reaches point D.

Step 5: From there he moves towards North-East a distance of 2m from point D
- He moves 2m towards the North-East direction from point D and reaches point E.

Step 6: Then he moves towards West a distance of 4 m from point E
- He moves 4m towards the West direction from point E and reaches point F.

Step 7: He moves towards South-West 2m from point F
- He moves 2m towards the South-West direction from point F and reaches point G.

Final step: Calculate the distance between point G and the starting point O
- We can calculate the distance between two points using the Pythagorean theorem.
- In this case, the horizontal and vertical distances between point G and point O form a right-angled triangle.
- The horizontal distance is 8m + 20m - 6m - 4m = 18m (positive direction towards the East is considered as +ve and towards the West as -ve)
- The vertical distance is 8m + 2m - 2m = 8m (positive direction towards the North is considered as +ve and towards the South as -ve)
- So, the distance between point G and point O is √(18² + 8²) = √364 = 19.06m (approx)

Therefore, Ganesh is approximately 19.06m away from the starting point O.

Answer: Option (B) 10m
