Refer to the given statements.(i) Both wind and water pollinated flowe...
Incorrect Statement:

(i) Both wind and water pollinated flowers are not very colourful and do not produce nectar.

Explanation:

- Wind pollinated flowers are usually small and inconspicuous because they do not require to attract pollinators. They do not produce nectar as well.
- Water pollinated flowers are also small and drab, and they do not produce nectar. However, they release their pollen into the water to be carried to other flowers.

Therefore, statement (i) is correct, and not incorrect as mentioned in the question.

Correct Statements:

(ii) Entomophilous flowers are large, colourful, fragrant and rich in nectar.

Explanation:

- Entomophilous flowers are pollinated by insects such as bees, butterflies, and moths.
- They have evolved to attract pollinators by producing brightly coloured petals, fragrances, and offering nectar as a reward for pollination.
- Therefore, statement (ii) is correct.

(iii) Kigelia pinnata is an insect pollinated flower.

Explanation:

- Kigelia pinnata, also known as the sausage tree, is an African plant species that produces large, maroon flowers.
- These flowers are pollinated by bats, which are considered to be the primary pollinators of this species.
- Therefore, statement (iii) is also correct.

Conclusion:

Option (C) is the correct answer as statement (i) is correct, and statements (ii) and (iii) are also correct.
