According to the problem statement, the new speed takes 1 hour less to cover the same distance. Hence,

100/x - 100/(x+5) = 1

Simplifying the above equation, we get:

x(x+5) = 500

x^2 + 5x - 500 = 0

Solving the above quadratic equation, we get:

x = 20 or x = -25 (negative value is not possible)

Therefore, the original speed of the jeep is 20 kmph.
