In figure (a), the circuit represents a balance bridge that’s why 18 Ω resistor will not have current across it.
As, 18 × 3 = 9 × 6
So, I = 0 (Balance bridge)
The equivalent resistor across current source is-
Req = (9 + 3)||(6 + 18)
Req = 12||24 = 8 Ω
Average power absorbed by the network:
Pavg = (Irms)2 Req … (i)
