Which one of t h e following is the correct statement?a)B2H6. 2NH3 is...
Statement D is correct: Chlorides of both beryllium and aluminium have bridged chloride structures in solid phase.

Explanation:
Chlorides of both beryllium and aluminium have different structures in solid phase.

Beryllium chloride (BeCl2) exists as a dimer in the solid phase with bridged chloride ligands. In this structure, two beryllium atoms are bridged by two chloride ions, and each beryllium atom is surrounded by four chloride ligands. This structure is also known as the polymeric structure of BeCl2.

Aluminium chloride (AlCl3) also exists in the solid phase with bridged chloride ligands. However, the structure of AlCl3 is different from that of BeCl2. AlCl3 exists as a dimer in which each aluminium atom is surrounded by six chloride ions. In this structure, two aluminium atoms are bridged by six chloride ions.

Hence, the correct statement is option D.
