Blood pressure in the mammalian aorta is maximum duringa)systole of t...
The temporary rise in blood pressure during the contraction of the heart is called systolic pressure and the temporary fall in blood pressure during relaxation of the heart is called diastolic pressure. Blood pressure is expressed as the ratio of the systolic pressure over the diastolic pressure. For a healthy resting adult person, the average systolic/diastolic pressures are 120/80mmHg. Aorta is directly supplied by left ventricle thus, the blood pressure in aorta is highest during systole of left ventricle. During it, left ventricle contracts and pushes blood into aorta.

Blood pressure in the mammalian aorta is maximum duringa)systole of t...

Explanation:

Systole of the left ventricle:
- During systole of the left ventricle, the heart muscle contracts, pushing blood into the aorta.
- This leads to an increase in pressure in the aorta as the blood is forcefully pumped out of the heart.

Diastole of the right atrium:
- Diastole of the right atrium is a period of relaxation in the heart when it fills with blood.
- During this phase, the pressure in the aorta decreases as the heart is not actively pumping blood.

Systole of the left atrium:
- Systole of the left atrium is when the left atrium contracts to push blood into the left ventricle.
- While this contributes to blood flow into the aorta, it is not the main contributor to the maximum blood pressure in the aorta.

Diastole of the right ventricle:
- Diastole of the right ventricle is a period of relaxation in the heart when it fills with blood before pumping it into the pulmonary artery.
- The pressure in the aorta is not at its maximum during this phase.

Therefore, the correct answer is systole of the left ventricle as it is the phase in the cardiac cycle when the blood pressure in the mammalian aorta is at its highest due to the forceful ejection of blood into the aorta from the left ventricle.
