Got it...you will get 3v as potential diff. across wire dividing it by 3m to get potential gradient we get 1v/m multiply it by 50cm or 0.5m to get potential diff across any two points separated by 50cm you will het 0.5v as ans

Calculation of Potential Difference in a Wire

Given Information:

  • Voltage of the battery, V = 6V

  • Length of the wire, l = 3m

  • Resistance of the wire, Rwire = 100 ohm

  • Resistance of the other resistor in series, Rresistor = 100 ohm

  • Distance between two points on the wire, d = 50cm = 0.5m

Calculation:

The total resistance of the circuit, Rtotal = Rwire + Rresistor = 200 ohm

The current flowing through the circuit, I = V / Rtotal = 6 / 200 = 0.03 A

The potential difference between two points on the wire can be calculated using Ohm's Law:

V = IR

Let the potential difference between two points on the wire separated by a distance of 50cm be Vwire.

Vwire = IRwire = 0.03 x 100 x 0.5 = 1.5V

Conclusion:

The potential difference between two points on the wire separated by a distance of 50cm is 1.5V.
