Chromosome division in meiosis takes place only once i.e. during anaphase 1. so if the diploid cell originally had 50 chromosome..then the number will be reduced to half in anaphase 1 and become 25 and will remain 25 throughout the whole meiosis 1 and meiosis 2..hope this was helpful..:-)
