For a reaction between gaseous compounds,2A+B=C+D the reaction rate=k(...
It will become 16 times as volume is inversely proportional to concentration so when volume. become 1/4 times so concentration will become 4 times the initial concentration. and as acc to equation (A)^2 so rate will become 4^2 ie 16 times..Hope this will help

For a reaction between gaseous compounds,2A+B=C+D the reaction rate=k(...
Explanation:

Given, the reaction between gaseous compounds, 2A + B = C + D, the reaction rate is given by k(A)(B).

When the volume of the container is reduced to 1/4th of the initial volume, the concentration of the reactants will increase by 4 times, as the number of molecules in the same volume will increase.

Hence, the rate of reaction will also increase proportionally to the concentration of the reactants. Using the initial rate as a reference, we can calculate the new rate of the reaction as follows:

Calculation:

Let the initial rate of reaction be R_1.

When the volume of the container is reduced to 1/4th, the concentration of A and B will become 4 times the initial concentration. Therefore, the new rate of reaction R_2 will be:

R_2 = k(4A)(4B) = 16k(A)(B)

Thus, the new rate of reaction is 16 times the initial rate of reaction.

Conclusion:

Therefore, the rate of reaction will increase 16 times when the volume of the container is reduced to 1/4th of the initial volume.
