Degrees with respect to an electric field. What is the torque experienced by the dipole?

The torque experienced by an electric dipole in an electric field is given by the equation:

τ = pEsinθ

where τ is the torque, p is the magnitude of the dipole moment, E is the magnitude of the electric field, and θ is the angle between the dipole moment and the electric field.

In this case, the angle between the dipole moment and the electric field is given as 30 degrees.

So, the torque experienced by the dipole is:

τ = pEsinθ
= pEsin(30)
= pE * (1/2)
= pE/2

Therefore, the torque experienced by the dipole is pE/2.
