Decreases !!!. Because, Suppose we take in series combination by using formula Rs = R1 + R2 + R3, where R1 = 3, R2 = 2, R3 = 1.

3 + 2 + 1 = 6Ω!!!.

Let we take in a parallel by using formula 1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3, where R1 = 3, R2 = 2, R3 =1.

1/3 + 1/2 + 1/1
= 1/3 × 6 + 1/2×6 + 1/1 × 6/6
= 2 + 3 + 6/6
= 11/6
= 1.83 Ω.

Compare the resistance in series and also in parallel. Now, you can clearly know that in parallel combination, total resistance decreases.
