#MONOHYBRID CROSS :===>
A cross between two pure (homozygous) parents in which inheritance pattern of only one pair of contrasting characters study is called monohybrid cross...............____________ in other words it is a cross between two pure (true breeding parents) differing in a single pair of contrasting characters........ monohybrid ratio is 3 :1 ..................___________
#DIHYBRID CROSS :==>
a cross between two pure (homozygous) parents in which the the inheritance pattern of two pairs of contrasting characters is considered simultaneously is called dihybrid cross or it is a cross between two pure (true breeding)parents differing in two pairs of contrasting characters ..................the hybrid of dihybrid cross is a heterozygous for two traits and produced in a cross between to your parents differing in two pairs of contrasting characters .......___the phenotypic ratio of the hybrid cross is 9 :3 :3: 1

Monohybrid, Dihybrid, and Test Cross

Monohybrid Cross
A monohybrid cross is a breeding experiment that involves only one gene. In this type of cross, two individuals that are homozygous for different alleles are mated. The offspring produced will all be heterozygous for that particular gene. An example of a monohybrid cross would be breeding two pea plants that are homozygous for either yellow or green seed color.

Dihybrid Cross
A dihybrid cross is a breeding experiment that involves two genes. In this type of cross, two individuals that are homozygous for different alleles at two different genes are mated. The offspring produced will all be heterozygous for both genes. An example of a dihybrid cross would be breeding two pea plants that are homozygous for yellow seed color and round seed shape with two pea plants that are homozygous for green seed color and wrinkled seed shape.

Test Cross
A test cross is a breeding experiment used to determine the genotype of an individual. In this type of cross, an individual of unknown genotype is crossed with an individual that is homozygous recessive for the same trait. The offspring produced will indicate the genotype of the unknown individual. If all the offspring have the dominant phenotype, then the unknown individual is homozygous dominant. If half the offspring have the dominant phenotype and half have the recessive phenotype, then the unknown individual is heterozygous. If all the offspring have the recessive phenotype, then the unknown individual is homozygous recessive. An example of a test cross would be breeding a pea plant with yellow seeds to a pea plant with green seeds but known to be homozygous recessive for seed color.
