In red light photosynthesis is highest because red light is completely absorbed by chlorophyll and completely used by plants. where on other hand blue and green light are not fully absorbed by chlorophyll And are also absorbed by caretinoids and xenthophyl . and in most of the plants all blue green light absorbing caretins and xenthophyls are not be present . that's why p.s. is highest in the presence of red light.
