A body moves in a circular path of radius r=500 m with tangential acce...
Solution:
Given, radius of circular path, r = 500 m and tangential acceleration, a = 2 m/s^2.

The tangential acceleration can be given as:
a = (dv/dt)

Given, tangential velocity, v = 30 m/s.

Therefore,
a = (dv/dt) = (d/dt)(30 m/s)
a = 0 m/s^2 (as velocity is constant)

Using the formula for total acceleration,
a(total) = √((a^2) + ((v^2)/r^2))

Substituting the given values,
a(total) = √(((2 m/s^2)^2) + ((30 m/s)^2)/(500 m)^2))
a(total) = √(4 + 0.36)
a(total) = √4.36
a(total) = 2.090 m/s^2

Therefore, option (D) 2.1 m/s^2 is the correct answer.
