The first traction forms a white ppt. of Zn(OH)2. Where Zn is the cationic part. When excess of NaOH is added, the ppt. dissolves and a colorless solution of sodium zincate (Na2ZnO2) is formed along with H2O. Now in this, solution of the complex sodium zincate, the cationic part is Na+ and the anionic part is (ZnO2)2- . Clearly, zinc is associated with the anionic part.
