What is CLAT Exam?

CLAT Exam Important Dates

The CLAT Exam is typically administered annually. However, in 2022, it was conducted twice in order to accommodate changes to the exam cycle and ensure timely admissions. In the past, the CLAT was typically held in the middle of the year, but starting in 2023, it has been moved to the final month of the preceding year. CLAT 2025 Notification and Updates

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT Exam) for 2025 will take place in December 2024. 

• The official dates and application process will be announced soon. 
• Starting with the 2025 exam, the test will only be held once a year in December and will no longer have multiple sittings in the same year.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2025

The candidates will have to pay CLAT 2025 Application Form fees successfully in online mode. Note the table below to know the category-wise CLAT 2024 Registration Fee.

2. CLAT 2025 Required Documents 

There are different documents you might require to upload while filling out the CLAT 2024 application form. Make sure all the given documents in the scanned form are available with you at the time of form filling.

CLAT Preparation Tips from Toppers

It is essential to prepare in a strategic manner and, every exam topper ensures making an effective strategy for preparation. Here are some strategies adopted by various CLAT Toppers:  

• CLAT 2019 AIR 1, Saumya Singh shared that he started his preparation around two years before the exam date i.e. from class 11th onwards for consistent preparation. He focused on his strengths and weaknesses from all subjects on weekdays and revisions on weekends.
  
• CLAT 2019 AIR 2, Harsh Tomar shares that he prepared a daily schedule for preparation in one year. He said the preparation plan was divided into two parts, wherein for the first six months the focus was allotted to the preparation of his weaker sections and, next six months for preparation of all sections. Throughout the preparation plan, he focused on weaknesses and strengths equally and, devoted sufficient time to learn tips and tricks in maths and practice questions from all subjects (at least five questions per subject).
• CLAT 2019 AIR 5, Mouli Jain shared that she followed a promodoro technique wherein, she used to study for a stretch of 25-30 minutes and then take a break for a few minutes. This helped her improve productivity and concentration. Moreover, she prepared a subject-wise timetable to prepare on a daily basis. She studied at least three subjects a day including the subjects she's weak in. She focused on accuracy in the first six months and then, improved speed in her preparation plan. For accuracy, she clarified all concepts and theory and, for speed, she practiced past years question papers of CLAT 2022 by setting time.  
• CLAT 2019 AIR 8, Shubh Mittal shares that in one year of CLAT preparation, his entire focus was on reading skills and speed by taking mock tests. 

CLAT 2025 Admit Card

The consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT Admit Card 2025 tentatively in november/december. The CLAT 2025 admit card will be released on the official site: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.  Only those candidates who have registered for CLAT Exam can access the admit card of CLAT 2025. While downloading their admit card candidates will require their mobile number and password. 

How to download Admit Card 2025?

Here are the steps you can follow to download CLAT 2025 Admit Card

Step 1: Visit the official site, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the download admit card link appearing on the screen.
Step 3: A login window appears on the screen.

Step 4: The candidate should log in to the page by entering their mobile number password and security pin.
Step 5: Once the candidate logs into the page, the admit card for CLAT-Entrance Exam will appear on the screen.
Step 6: Finally, the candidate can access the admit card to download it for future use.

The  CLAT 2025 Admit Card is a mandatory document to be carried to the examination centres.

CLAT 2025 Exam Centres

The CLAT 2024 exam will be held at designated test centers, but the number of centers may change depending on the number of applications received. Rajkot was added as a new test center in the year 2023. The availability of a center at a particular location is subject to the number of candidates opting for that center.

CLAT 2025 Result & Answer Key 

The CLAT UG result and answer key are typically released on the official CLAT website after the exam has been administered. Here is an overview of the process for releasing the CLAT UG result and answer key:

• Release of answer key: After the exam has been administered, the official answer key is typically released on the CLAT website. The answer key includes the correct answers to all of the questions on the exam.
• Challenge the answer key: Candidates who have any objections to the answer key can challenge it by submitting a written representation to the CLAT office within the prescribed time limit.
• Release of result: After the challenge period has ended and any necessary corrections have been made to the answer key, the CLAT UG result is typically released on the CLAT website.]
• Counselling: After the result has been released, eligible candidates will be required to register for counseling and follow the counseling process to secure admission to an NLU.

CLAT Cut Off and CLAT Previous Year Paper Analysis

The CLAT cutoff is the minimum score that a candidate must achieve to be eligible for admission to law courses offered by NLUs and other private universities. After the counselling rounds are over, each NLU releases the CLAT cut-off in the form of opening and closing ranks.

Based on the analysis of the CLAT 2023 exam and feedback from students, it is likely that the CLAT 2023 cut-off will be slightly higher as the exam was relatively easy-moderate. 

• Candidates who score 105 or more marks will have a good chance of being admitted to NLSIU Bengaluru. 
• For the top 5 NLUs, the cut-off is expected to be around 98-100 marks. A good number of correct answers to aim for is 115 or more. 
• In terms of rank, the CLAT cut-off is expected to remain similar to previous years. Candidates who rank in the top 100 are likely to secure admission to NLSIU

CLAT counseling is the process by which candidates are selected for admission to undergraduate law programs at National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. Here is an overview of the CLAT Exam counseling process:

CLAT 2023: After consulting with the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs), National Law University, Tripura ("NLU, Tripura") has decided not to take part in the Admissions Counselling Process for the 2023–24 academic year. Therefore, candidates taking CLAT in 2023 were notified that NLU, Tripura must be withdrawn from their lists of preferences as part of the Admissions Counselling Process.
