Given,
length of train (distance) = 175m
speed of train = 20m/s (72×5/18)
bird flying parallel = 18km/hr = 5 m/s

relative velocity = v bird - ( - vtrain)
vbird + v train ( opposite direction )

v rel = 20+5 = 25 m/s
time = distance/speed
= 175/25
= 7 seconds

hence time taken is 7s

∴ Relative velocity of bird w.r.t. train = vB + vT = 25m/s Train’s length = 175m
