    Solution:

    Efficiency of the Carnot engine is given by,

    η = (T1 - T2)/T1 × 100%

    Where, T1 is the absolute temperature of the input steam and T2 is the absolute temperature of the reject steam.

    Given, η = 55% and T2 = 105°C = 378 K

    Calculating for T1:

    55 = (T1 - 378)/T1 × 100%

    0.55T1 = T1 - 378

    0.45T1 = 378

    T1 = 840 K

    Therefore, the absolute temperature of input steam is 840 K, which is between 830 and 850 as given in the options.

    Answer: 840 K
