GATE Score Validity Period

  • Many GATE aspirants believe that their GATE score is valid for only one year after the examination. However, this is not the case.
  • The GATE scorecard is valid for a period of three years from the date of the announcement of the examination results. This means that candidates who have scored well on the GATE exam can use their scores to apply for post-graduate programs or for recruitment in various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) within this period.
  • Additionally, there is no limit to the number of times a candidate can appear for the GATE exam. A candidate can appear for the exam as many times as they wish, at any point in their lives, since there is no age limit for appearing in GATE.
  • This allows candidates to retake the exam if they are not satisfied with their score or if they wish to improve their chances of being admitted to a post-graduate program or securing a job in a PSU.
  • It's worth mentioning that a candidate can have multiple valid scorecards, and they can use the one with the highest score for admissions or for jobs in PSUs. This gives the candidate an opportunity to improve their score if they are not satisfied with their previous results.

GATE Score Validity for PSUs

  • Typically, GATE scores are valid for one year and are used as a means of assessing candidates for recruitment in various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
  • Some PSUs, such as NTPC and GAIL, only consider candidates who have scored highly on the GATE examination.
